Aidan McGuire, Sales Director of Blue Fountain Systems explained “Sequence supply or demand flow manufacturing systems are at the cutting edge of supply chain management systems delivering parts directly to the production line at the right time, at the right place and in the right order.” He added “ These Blue Sequence applications are at the heart of automotive production providing 100% reliable manufacture and delivery of parts with full visibility and accountability.”
In simple terms the Blue Sequence application works by ensuring robust and reliable communication between the TKA factory in Fareham and the Ford plant based in Southampton. A sequence message is sent from the Ford production line to the TKA plant detailing which part needs to be built, upon receipt of this message, Blue Sequence creates a bar coded ticket which when scanned gives the correct build instruction. Following manufacture the parts are loaded and shipped to the main plant. The Blue Sequence application fully supports Ford's traceability program and is used by both organisations as part of the quality control process for Ford van production within the UK.
